Strudlhofstiege

Strudlhofstiege is an elegant outdoor staircase in Alsergrund, completed in 1910 to connect Strudlhofgasse and Liechtensteinstrasse. Its curving landings, railings, fountains, and planting make it one of Vienna's best small examples of Jugendstil urban design.

The staircase is also known from Heimito von Doderer's novel of the same name. It is a quick but rewarding stop when walking between the Servitenviertel, the Freud Museum, and the old university quarter.
