Theater an der Wien is a historic opera house opened in 1801 by Emanuel Schikaneder, Mozart's librettist for The Magic Flute. Beethoven's Fidelio and Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus premiered here, and the Papagenotor side entrance still nods to Schikaneder's famous role.
