A great trompe-l'oeil mural on a blank wall near the Place d'Armes shows two hundred and fifty notable Walloons from across history and the arts — writers, scientists, sportspeople, cartoonists, politicians, musicians, artists, all jammed together in a stylised assembly. Painted by the artist team CitéCréation in 2009–2010, it is one of the largest figurative murals in Belgium.
A free leaflet from the tourist office (or a QR code on the wall) keys every face. Some are unmissable (Hergé, Magritte, César Franck); others reward only the local. It rewards a slow look.
