Namur is well-connected by rail and motorway and is easy to reach from anywhere in Belgium.
By train: Namur railway station, just north of the centre, is a major hub. Trains from Brussels-Midi take just over an hour; from Liège, about an hour; from Charleroi, half an hour. Direct intercity services run to Luxembourg, and the high-speed line connects Namur to Paris and Cologne via Brussels.
By car: the E411 (Brussels–Luxembourg) and E42 (Liège–Mons) motorways meet just east of the city. Parking is best at the underground lots near the river or at the citadel.
By boat: river cruises along the Meuse, from Dinant or Liège, dock at the Namur quay. A leisurely way to arrive, particularly in summer.
The nearest airports are Brussels (about 70 km) and Charleroi (about 40 km, mostly served by low-cost airlines).
