Museum of the Old Bridge

Small museum inside the Tara tower at the Stari Most, telling the bridge's destruction and rebuilding.

Housed inside the Tara tower at the western end of the Stari Most, this compact museum walks visitors through the bridge's construction in the 16th century, its destruction in 1993, and its meticulous reconstruction. Archaeological remains, photographs, and video footage from the war are displayed across several floors.

The climb up the tower's narrow stone steps is rewarded with a viewing platform offering one of the best perspectives on the bridge itself. The ticket also includes access to the Halebija tower on the opposite side. It is small but worth an hour, especially if you want context for what you are looking at when you cross the bridge outside.
