Just north of the centre, the Muslibegović House is one of the best-preserved Ottoman residential buildings in Bosnia. Built in the late 17th and 18th centuries for a wealthy Mostar family, it has the classic Bosnian arrangement: a high walled courtyard, a stone ground floor for everyday use, and a wood-built first floor with the family's reception rooms.
The interiors are remarkable — divan rooms with carved wooden ceilings, latticed windows, cushioned banquettes, copper trays, and rugs. Part of the house operates as a small boutique hotel, but the rest is open to the public as a museum. It is the easiest way to see how a prosperous Mostar household actually lived under Ottoman rule.
