The Canyon of Waterfalls is a forest trail above Smolyan that links a string of small waterfalls with a panorama point over the town and the Rhodope slopes. The full walk usually takes 3 to 4 hours and is manageable for fit walkers, though parts are steep and the waymarking can be uneven.
The waterfalls are best after the spring thaw or in early summer, when water levels are higher. Stop at the information centre near the start of the trail before setting out.
