Beaches

Beaches are the main reason to visit Čiovo. The south coast faces the open sea and has the best swimming, while the north side offers sheltered coves with calmer water.

Copacabana (officially Milićevo) in Okrug Gornji is the island's longest beach -- about two kilometres of fine gravel backed by beach bars. It gets busy in July and August but the water stays clean. Further west, quieter coves like Marinova Draga and Duga beach reward a short walk or boat ride. Okrug Donji has several family-friendly beaches with shallow entry and little current.

On the north side, Slatine has a pleasant pebbly beach near the catamaran dock -- a good spot if you are waiting for the boat to Split.
