Konoba Slatine

Slatine's small waterfront has a konoba that makes the most of its position near the catamaran dock: it catches visitors arriving from Split before they head inland, and it catches them again in the afternoon as they wait for the return crossing. The fish here comes from local boats; the menu changes depending on what was landed that day.

The setting is simple — stone walls, a shaded terrace, plastic chairs — but the peka (slow-cooked lamb or octopus under a bell-shaped lid) is made properly and worth ordering in advance if you are planning to be there for lunch. Portions are generous and prices are significantly lower than equivalent restaurants in Trogir across the water.

A story
The fishermen of Slatine once supplied fresh catch to the hotels of Trogir by rowing across the channel before dawn — a practice that ended when refrigerated transport arrived in the 1970s, but the quality of the fish in the village has remained.
