The waterfront konoba in Mastrinka is the kind of place that earns its reputation by not trying very hard: a handful of tables, a daily catch written on a board, and a kitchen that does almost nothing to the fish except grill it well. The grilled sea bream and sea bass are the thing to order, served with blitva (Swiss chard with olive oil and garlic) and a carafe of local white wine. The terrace sits directly above the water, close enough that you can watch the fishing boats come and go while you eat.
Prices are honest and the atmosphere is quiet even in summer — Mastrinka draws far fewer package tourists than Okrug Gornji, and the restaurant reflects that. Book ahead in July and August; outside peak season it is rarely full.
