The Aquatika aquarium on the bank of the Korana focuses on the freshwater life of Croatia's rivers and karst springs — a refreshingly local subject. The collection moves you upstream from large slow lowland rivers to crystal-clear mountain pools, with the fish, crayfish and amphibians that go with each habitat.
The building itself is striking, with a wave-shaped concrete roof, and the riverside location is part of the visit. A good rainy-day option and a real favourite with families.
