Rovinj's bar scene is concentrated along the harbour and in the narrow lanes of the old town. In summer the whole seafront becomes an open-air gathering place from aperitivo time onward. The local Istrian wines — Malvazija white and Teran red — are worth seeking out alongside the ubiquitous Karlovačko or Ožujsko beer.
The most memorable experience is finding a spot on the rocky western shore of the old town and watching the sunset over the Adriatic with a drink in hand. Valentino has made this a tradition, but any rocky perch will do.
