Vinkovci is on the main railway line between Zagreb and Belgrade. Direct trains from Zagreb take around three to four hours; from Osijek (the regional capital) the journey is about an hour. The Vinkovci railway station handles a reasonable number of daily connections.
By road, Vinkovci sits just off the A3 motorway that runs along the Sava valley. From Zagreb the drive is around two and a half hours. Buses connect Vinkovci to Osijek, Vukovar, and Zagreb throughout the day.
