Along the main lane into Christiania, beyond Pusher Street, there are a dozen or so stalls and small workshops selling handmade goods — jewellery, leather work, ceramics, prints, and clothing. Quality varies, but some genuinely skilled craftspeople work here, and you can sometimes watch things being made.
The stalls reflect Christiania's founding ideals around alternative economy and self-sufficiency. Prices are reasonable by Copenhagen standards. It is worth walking the whole length of the main path to see what is on offer — the stalls change seasonally and some only appear on weekends.
