Spisestedet Leonora occupies one of the lower wings of Frederiksborg Castle and is the obvious lunch stop after a morning in the museum. It is named for the 17th-century princess Leonora Christina, who spent twenty-two years imprisoned in another Danish castle for political conspiracy. The menu is classic Danish, with good smorrebrod at lunchtime — herring three ways, smoked salmon, roast beef with crispy onions — and full plate-and-fork mains in the evening.
The terrace looks out over the castle lake. Book ahead in summer or come for an early lunch.
