Mariehamn is a very small town and its sights can be covered in a day. The Pommern museum ship and the Maritime Museum are the headline attractions; the two harbours and the main street (Torggatan) are pleasant to walk. The town's main value for many visitors is as the gateway to the outer Åland islands, which reward several days of cycling and island-hopping.
