The old municipal slaughterhouse complex from 1933, reinvented since 2012 as Helsinki's main food-and-event district. The red-brick halls now hold restaurants (Birri's wood-fired pizza, B-Smokery for American barbecue), the Helsinki Distilling Company gin bar, a small brewery, an artisan ice cream maker, and a busy summer terrace.
Weekends are the busiest, with open-air food trucks, occasional Sunday flea markets, and the popular Restaurant Day takeover. Tram 7 or 9 from the centre, then a five-minute walk.
