Notre-Dame des Neiges

The resort's modernist church, built between 1968 and 1970, is the work of architect Jean Marol and is one of the more striking pieces of mountain religious architecture in France. The pyramidal exterior recalls the surrounding peaks; inside, a vast organ — designed by Detlef Kleuker — fills the back wall and is the centrepiece of a regular summer organ festival.

It is open most days outside of services and worth ten minutes on the way past. The setting, with snowy peaks framing the entrance, has made it a popular spot for winter weddings.
