Getting Around

Strasbourg has one of the best tram systems in France — six lines converging on the central Homme de Fer stop, serving most parts of the city efficiently. The historic centre (Grande Île) is UNESCO-protected and largely car-free, so trams and walking are the standard modes. Bicycles are everywhere and the city has an excellent network of cycling lanes; Véloparc is the main bike-hire scheme.

The Strasbourg Pass gives unlimited tram travel plus free or reduced entry to major museums. Taxis are available but rarely necessary given how compact the city centre is. The Place de la Cathédrale and La Petite France are within 15 minutes' walk of each other.
