Things to Do

Strasbourg is compact enough to walk. The cathedral quarter, the Petite France, and the European institutions district are all within easy reach of the centre. Most of the main sights cluster around two squares: the busy Place Kléber and Place Gutenberg to the south, named after the inventor of movable type, who lived here in the early 15th century. The city's museums are strong on Alsatian history and art, and the cathedral alone is worth a half-day.
