Getting There

Strasbourg is well connected by TGV from Paris (2 hours 20 minutes from Gare de l'Est), making it an easy weekend or day-trip destination from the capital. The train station (Gare Centrale) is at the edge of the city centre and within walking distance of the cathedral. There are also direct trains from Frankfurt (90 minutes), Basel (30 minutes), and Karlsruhe (45 minutes) across the Rhine.

Strasbourg Entzheim Airport has flights from Paris Orly and several European cities. A tram line (Line F) connects the airport to the city centre in about 30 minutes. By car, the city is on the A35 autoroute along the Rhine plain and well signposted. There is a large Park and Ride system on the tram network edges, which is by far the easiest way to approach the car-unfriendly city centre.
