Chay Beach is a small sandy cove tucked between low cliffs east of Pontaillac. It is more intimate than Royan's main beach, with fine sand, sheltered water, and a pleasant approach from the centre with views over the Gironde estuary.
It is a good choice when you want a quieter swim or a short coastal walk rather than the full resort-beach scene.
