Grande-Conche is Royan's main beach, a long crescent of fine sand running from the marina toward the tip of Vallières. Its sheltered shape gives the beach its name and makes it the easiest place in town to combine swimming with a walk along the seafront.
It is central, open, and straightforward, but the scale is what lifts it above a routine town beach. Come early in high summer if you want space near the water.
