Bois du Parc National Nature Reserve

A protected woodland just south of the village, the Bois du Parc is a remnant of the old forests that once covered the Yonne valley hillsides. The reserve protects a mix of oak, hornbeam, and limestone grassland, and the paths through it make for a quiet afternoon walk from the village. Butterflies are abundant in early summer, and the limestone ridges give views back towards Mailly-le-Château's cliff silhouette. No facilities — bring water and expect muddy paths after rain.
