The Musée de Vulliod Saint-Germain occupies a donated hôtel particulier at 3 rue Albert-Paul Alliés and covers the decorative arts, local history, and religion of Pézenas and the surrounding Hérault. The collections include antique furniture, Moustiers faïence porcelain, paintings, sculpture, textiles, and a small display of military arms. It is an old-fashioned regional museum in the best sense — eclectic, slightly overstuffed, and genuinely informative about the town's past wealth and civic culture.
The Molière room is the draw for many visitors, with documents and objects related to the playwright's multiple stays in Pézenas during the 1650s when his company performed for the prince de Conti. The museum opens daily in summer (10am–noon, 3–7pm) and has reduced winter hours, closing Sundays and Mondays from September to May. The building itself — the courtyard, the staircase, the proportions of the rooms — is as interesting as many of the objects inside it.
