Cons-la-Grandville is a very small Lorraine village southwest of Longwy, close to the Belgian and Luxembourg borders. It would barely register on most itineraries if not for its château, which rises above the Chiers valley with a jumble of medieval, Renaissance, and classical work layered into one compact estate.
This is not a town for a long stay. It is a detour for travellers already exploring northern Lorraine, especially those interested in castles, borderland history, or the industrial towns around Longwy. The surrounding wooded hills give the place more atmosphere than its size suggests.
Check access before you go. The Château de Cons-la-Grandville is privately owned and opens on a limited schedule, often around guided visits and heritage events.
