Le Havre's bar life concentrates around the Bassin du Commerce quays and the streets of the Saint-François quarter near the old harbour. The city has a genuine working-port character — this is not a place for cocktail bars, but for unpretentious neighbourhood cafés and brasseries where an early Calvados is entirely acceptable.
