Batumi has an international airport with connections to Istanbul and several European cities. From Tbilisi there are shared taxis (marshrutky), larger buses, and a twice-daily train. The night train is the most comfortable option — it leaves Tbilisi at 9pm and arrives in the morning, costs around 7 USD, and is generally cheaper than a night's accommodation.
