The Wolfshöhle — "wolf's den" — sits on Konviktstrasse in the old town and holds a Michelin star for chef Sascha Weiss's modern take on Badisch cooking. Expect things like Black Forest venison with elderberry, char from the Hochschwarzwald, and asparagus in season — the wine list leans heavily on Baden whites and Burgundy.
The room is small, candle-lit, and not too formal. Tasting menus run to six or seven courses; à la carte is also available. Book a couple of weeks ahead for weekend tables. The street outside is one of the prettiest in the old town.
