The city centre is walkable. The Karl Marx Monument, the archaeology museum, the Kunstsammlungen, and the petrified forest site are all within 10 minutes of each other on foot. The Kaßberg is a 15-minute walk west of the centre, or a quick tram ride. Chemnitz has a good tram network (the Straßenbahn) covering the wider city — the same ticket covers trams and buses. The Saxon Railway Museum and the Parkeisenbahn are in the northeastern Küchwald area, easily reached by tram. A day ticket on public transport is good value if you plan to cover more than two or three stops.
