The Pieria coast runs for about 50 km along the Thermaic Gulf, almost all of it beach. The three main resort strips are Paralia (directly east of Katerini, busy and full of tavernas), Olympiaki Akti (Olympic Beach, bigger and even more developed), and quieter Korinos to the north. All three hold EU Blue Flag certifications for water quality, all have fine sand and gentle shelving, and all come alive during the Greek summer holidays in July and August.
