Katerini is on the main Athens–Thessaloniki railway and motorway, so intercity buses and trains make it easy to reach. Local KTEL buses run down to the beach villages and up to Litochoro, and taxis are cheap. A rental car is the most flexible way to cover the mountain, the archaeological sites and the beaches on a single trip.
