Lamia's sights are modest by Greek standards but reward a half-day of exploration. The castle hill dominates the town and is worth climbing for the views alone; the museum inside is unexpectedly good. The main draw for most visitors is Thermopylae, a short drive south — but the city has its own quiet pleasures: a pleasant central square, a surviving stretch of ancient walls, and a surprisingly lively café culture inherited from the large student population.
