Plomari's main attraction is its ouzo culture — visit the Barbayiannis Distillery and Museum to learn how the spirit is made and sample the goods. The old town of crumbling neoclassical mansions and former tanneries is worth a wander. The harbour has fishing boats and seafood tavernas. The beach at Agios Isidoros, a few kilometres east, is the best swimming spot nearby.
