Several of the tavernas double as bars in the evening, serving Greek wine, beer, and ouzo until late in summer. The main strip along the beachfront is the social centre of the village: coffee in the morning (Greek frappé and espresso are both widely available), drinks in the evening. The pace is relaxed and the atmosphere is oriented around the beach rather than nightlife. Kardamyli, 15km north, has a slightly livelier café scene and is worth an evening trip.
