The nearest airport is Kalamata (KLX), 45km north, with seasonal charter flights from northern Europe (UK, Germany, Scandinavia) and year-round connections via Athens. From Kalamata airport, taxis to Stoupa take around 45 minutes; buses run to Kalamata town, from where the coastal KTEL bus continues south to Stoupa (infrequent — check timetables in advance).
Athens International Airport is around 290km to the northeast. The drive via the Tripoli–Kalamata road takes around 3 hours. KTEL buses run from Athens to Kalamata (3.5 hours) with onward connections along the coast. Driving from Patras (served by ferries from Italy: Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, Venice) takes around 3 hours.
A hire car is the most practical option for exploring the Mani. The coastal roads are scenic but sometimes narrow; the local bus service is too infrequent for comfortable sightseeing.
