Stoupa's appeal is straightforward: beaches, swimming, eating, and using the village as a base for exploring the Mani. The main Stoupa Beach runs around a wide bay with calm water and a good snorkelling site at its southern end. Kalogria Beach, just over the headland, is quieter, with spring-cooled water and tamarisk shade. Both beaches have sun lounger hire and water sports (kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling gear hire).
Hiking in the surrounding hills and along the coastal paths is excellent, particularly toward Kardamyli to the north. There are well-marked trails through the mountains. The gorge walks around Vyros (accessible from Kardamyli) are among the best in the Peloponnese.
