The Prespa Lakes region is primarily a nature and wildlife destination. The main draws are the pelican colonies, the Byzantine churches and hermitages scattered among the villages, and the island of Agios Achillios in Micro Prespa. The surrounding hills offer walking without crowds. A car is essential — the villages are spread over a large area with no public transport between them.
