One of the oldest bars in Lindos, Arches is set into a captain's house on the lane leading up to the Acropolis, its terrace framed by the stone arches that give it its name. The atmosphere is more relaxed than the louder bars on the main square, and it draws a slightly older crowd of repeat visitors who know it's there. The cocktails are properly made, the Greek beers cold, and the local raki is reasonably priced.
In the evenings the terrace is lit with lanterns and the pebble mosaic floor of the former courtyard catches the light. It opens in the late afternoon and runs until around 2am in high season. A decent starting point before dinner or somewhere to settle into for the night.
