May, June, and September are the best months. The Acropolis opens early and the light is good all day; temperatures are warm but not extreme, and the village has not reached peak-season saturation. July and August are very busy — cruise ships arrive most days and the Acropolis staircase queues from mid-morning until late afternoon. The village itself becomes crowded enough to be unpleasant in the hottest weeks.
October through April, Lindos is dramatically different: most restaurants and shops close, the beaches are empty, and the Acropolis can be visited in complete solitude. The light in October and November is softer and the sea remains warm enough for swimming into November. Some accommodation stays open year-round for visitors who prefer the off-season.
