Lindos is about 50 kilometres from Rhodes City on the east coast. Local buses (KTEL) run regularly between Rhodes City bus terminal and Lindos throughout the day in summer (roughly every 30-60 minutes); the journey takes about 75 minutes. Taxis from Rhodes City cost significantly more but take about 45 minutes.
Day trips by excursion boat run from Mandraki Harbour in Rhodes City during summer — the boat journey follows the coast and offers views of Lindos that the road approach misses. The journey takes about 90 minutes each way. Driving from Rhodes City via the coastal road (not the inland bypass) is more scenic and only adds 10-15 minutes.
Once in Lindos, the village is reached by foot only — vehicles are prohibited inside and must be left in the car park above the village. The walk down to the village takes about 5 minutes; the walk back up is steeper.
