The largest church in Greece, dedicated to the city's patron saint, who was supposedly martyred on this spot in a Roman bath house. Burnt down in the great fire of 1917 and carefully rebuilt, it still holds five extraordinary 7th-century mosaics that survived along the chancel walls. Don't miss the crypt below, where you can see the actual remains of the Roman bath and the well into which the saint's blood was said to have flowed.
