Hamidiye Bridge is an Ottoman stone bridge over the Kosynthos River west of Xanthi. Built in 1903, it is a small but handsome reminder of the region's Ottoman period and the old routes that connected the mountain villages with the plain.
The bridge was damaged in 1941 by the retreating Greek army. Its surviving arches make it a worthwhile short stop if you are exploring the road toward Stavroupoli.
