Klauzál Square Market Hall

Klauzál Square Market Hall is a late-19th-century neighbourhood market in Budapest's Jewish Quarter. It is smaller and less theatrical than the Great Market Hall, but that is part of the point: this is a working local market with fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, flowers, and simple food stalls.

It is a good stop while wandering Erzsébetváros, especially if you want a break from ruin bars and street-food courtyards. The building dates from 1897 and still gives the square a useful daily rhythm.
