Rumbach Street Synagogue

Rumbach Street Synagogue is one of the strongest pieces of Moorish Revival architecture in Budapest's Jewish Quarter. Built in 1872 to a design by Otto Wagner, it has twin tower-like forms outside and an octagonal domed interior filled with painted geometric detail.

It sits close to the Great Synagogue but feels more intimate and less crowded. Go for the architecture: the eastern motifs, coloured ornament, and iron-supported dome make it a rewarding stop on a walk through the quarter.
