The town's main museum, named after the Hungarian general who held Komárom for the revolutionary side in 1849. The collection covers two distinct stories: the Roman town of Brigetio that lay east of the modern town, and the 19th-century fortress system and its place in the War of Independence.
The Roman material is the highlight — mosaics, military diplomas, soldiers' tombstones, and a hoard of bronze figurines from one of the houses excavated south of Szőny. Allow about ninety minutes. Some of the museum's collection is also on display inside Igmánd Fort.
