Kőszeg is a quiet town and its evening scene reflects that. There are a handful of bars and wine bars around the main square where you can drink local Kékfrankos by the glass. The wine-bar culture suits the town well — it is a place for a slow evening glass rather than a late night.
Coffee culture follows the Central European tradition: proper espresso and filter coffee in cafes that also serve cakes and pastries. A morning coffee on one of the square's terraces, with the bells of Sacred Heart Church in the background, is one of the small pleasures of visiting Kőszeg.
