The Irish Film Institute occupies a converted Quaker meeting house on Eustace Street, making it one of the more atmospheric arthouse cinemas in Europe. It screens independent, foreign, and classic films across two screens, and maintains a substantial archive of Irish film.
The building also houses a well-regarded bar and café that are open to all — not just cinema-goers — making it a good meeting point in the heart of Temple Bar without the noise of the surrounding pubs. The IFI international film festival takes place here every November.
