Teramo's centre is small and easy to walk in a morning. The cathedral and its polyptych are the headline visit; the Roman theatre and amphitheatre sit a couple of blocks away; and the city has two small but well-curated museums of archaeology and civic art. Most of the rest of the day is best spent in the Gran Sasso mountains visible to the south or on the Adriatic coast to the east.
