By train: The Circumvesuviana line connects Sorrento to Naples (Piazza Garibaldi) with departures every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 65 minutes and costs a few euros. This is the easiest and most practical way to get here — it also stops at Pompeii and Herculaneum on the way.
By ferry: Ferries and hydrofoils connect Sorrento to Naples, Capri, Ischia, Amalfi, and Positano. The ferry port is at Marina Piccola, a short walk from the town centre. From Naples Molo Beverello, hydrofoils take about 35 minutes.
By bus: SITA buses run along the Amalfi Coast road connecting Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi, and Salerno. The road is slow and crowded in summer; the ride is spectacular regardless.
By car: From Naples, take the A3 motorway to the Castellammare di Stabia exit and follow signs to Sorrento. The drive is about an hour without traffic. Parking in Sorrento itself is limited; use one of the public car parks on the edge of town.
